Neighbourly Care was founded in 2008 by Councillor Anne Jones MBE.

We now have a substantial number of volunteers and clients, but we are always looking to help more people. Our services are free of charge although we seek grants and donations when available. The Charity is run by unpaid volunteers, and relies on Grants, Donations and Fund Raising to meet our annual costs. Whilst our Volunteers are not paid, they do incur expenses in using their cars in the course of their various activities on behalf of our clients, as well as postage and telephone costs.

We produce annual accounts which are professionally examined and presented at our Annual General Meeting and details of these are given to the Charity Commission and our main sponsors.

Our clients are really grateful for the help we provide and the testimonies below reflect why we do what we do:

  • “This is an excellent and much needed service. I don’t know what I’d do without them as I live alone and my funds and physical abilities are limited. I really appreciate the help with my shopping.”
  • “Mum thoroughly enjoyed your company. I always knew when you’d recently visited as she was ebullient after your chats.”
  • "This service is very valuable to people like me. It helps us to be more independent, more normal! Thank you all very much."
  • "This is the first time I have used NC. The lady who interviewed me was very nice and helpful, the gentleman who mended my gate (the next day) was also very kind and helpful, thank you."
